GBI is a CA non-profit corporation established in 1991 in partnership with Loyola Marymount University’s College of Business Administration. GBI is a Strategic Thinkubator (Think and do Tank) Organization and IC2 Global Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin. GBI, as a nonprofit, is dedicated to promoting the development and growth of urban enterprises through business incubation and cooperative strategies. The mission of Global Business Incubation, Inc. (“GBI”) is to promote the development and growth of urban enterprises through business incubation and cooperative strategies. GBI serves as a facilitator of diverse projects. These include teaching factories, business incubators, neighborhood cooperatives, job training programs, youth training and entrepreneurial programs, and technology innovation. Collectively, these provide a synergistic approach to reviving the urban small business community. For over 20 years, GBI founders have researched the most successful models of institution building, infrastructures, business incubators, cooperatives, teaching and testing factories and research consortia that create wealth. They have interviewed wealth creators such as Walt Disney of Disney and Ray Croc of MacDonalds and served as business consultants to World Bank, Amway, Encylopedia Brittanica, Major League Baseball and other entities.
